Vice-chancellor’s Academic Award Ceremony for 2015/2016 Academic year is underway at the Great Hall, University of Ghana. This function is a follow-up of the July and November congregations respectively. Dr Amegbletor, an alumni of the university is one of the proud sponsors of this prestigious award.
Impressively, 86 out of 147 awardees were females. This phenomenon serves as a major boost to activists that have preached the need for girl child education since time immemorial. Kwegir Aggrey must be proud as he graciously looks on. Affirmative action is in full motion and I hope this will be a springboard for bigger things to come.
Congratulations to all the contestants including our very own Ebo Barton-Odro and Napoleon Mensah for bagging the best graduating students in theatre and music respectively.
Also, big props to Dr. Ellen Boakye for bagging 10 laurels on this august occasion.
I have reason to believe that in the near future, potential sponsors will focus their attention in the path of the Performing Arts as it’s been fixated on the Sciences and the Administrative programs for far too long
The family of CPP flag bearer in the recent 2016 electron Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, a major sponsor of the award graced the occasion and made a presentation as well.
